Crafting ’Til We Drop Friday, July 23

Crafters: join us on Friday, July 23 beginning at 7:00 PM until Saturday, July 24 at Noon. We’ll craft and have fun and flow right into the Saturday morning’s Close Knit Circle of Friends group until Noon. For more information, call Mimi Milton in the church office (954-752-6566).

Book Buddies Tuesday, July 27

All Hands on Deck for Vacation Bible School

This summer, we’re setting sail for VBS fun on the HIGH SEAS! Our kids will feel the sea spray on their face as sails snap overhead. They’ll experience the deep rolling waters of God’s love. Before setting sail, we do need to put together a crew to help our kids on their High Seas Expedition. Sailing experience is not required! We could use help before, during and after setting sail, for the whole trip or part of the trip. It’s easily the best time we will have all summer.

VBS Dates: August 9 – 13, 2010 Time: 9:00 AM – Noon

Youth Faith Guides-- Youth entering 7th grade and above in the upcoming coming school year have the opportunity to be Faith Guides for this year’s Vacation Bible School: High Seas Expedition and earn 20 to 30 community service hours. All Youth Volunteers and Faith Guides must attend a mandatory training session on July 28 at 7:00 PM. All volunteers, youh and adults alike, must pre-register to be part of the VBS Team.

Vacation Bible School Faith Guide Training Wednesday, July 28

Youth entering 7th grade and older who want to help with VBS need to register online at www.groupvbspro.com/vbs/ez/lmicvbs and attend a training session on Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00 PM if they haven’t already done so. Contact Phyllis BeJune for further details (pbejune@lmic.org or 954-752-6566).

VBS Supplies - Donations Needed

Paper towel rolls, duct tape, hand wipes, PringlesT, Baked Wheat StixT, M&MsT, mini marshmallows, Honey Nut CheeriosT, fresh fruit, bite-size blue corn chips, snacks for our adult and teen helpers. If you are able to donate any supplies, please email vbs@lmic.org or call Phyllis in the church office (954-752-6566).

Summer Food Drive

Items needed include canned tuna, vegetables, mac ‘n cheese, peanut butter, soup, cereals and other non-perishable foods for distribution through the Pantry of Broward. Bring donations to Mimi in the office.

Early Childhood Ministries Registration

Registration for the fall term at Lutheran Ministry in Christ’s preschool, Early Childhood Ministries (ECM), is well underway. Our creative schedules include part day, full day, part week and full weeks. ECM has classes for Infants, Toddlers, 2’s, 3’s and Pre-K. Summer Camp and Summer VPK registration is also now open.

ECM is also a VPK (Voluntary Pre Kindergarten) provider, and not all VPK programs are the same! VPK is parent’s choice— parents choose to bring their children to ECM because Christian values are taught, sing songs about our Lord and say prayers. If you have a child that will be 4 on or before September 1, 2010…call ECM and consider us for your VPK needs. Check out ECM4kids.com or call 954-752-0345.
