J.O.Y. Women’s Morning Fellowship & Study

Women of all ages gather at 9:00 AM on Thursdays in the Church Office Conference Room for Bible study and go to lunch together following. This group serves the congregation through a greeting card ministry and assisting with special events. For more information, please contact Mimi Milton (954-752-0345 or mmilton@lmic.org).

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

All adults are invited to connect to  "The Wired Word" Sunday mornings from 9:45—10:45 AM—year round for informal discussion and fellowship. Each week, participants will delve into the Biblical dimensions of current events using "The Wired Word," an Adult Education curriculum designed to confront the news with Scripture and hope. Participants have the opportunity to have the upcoming lesson emailed directly to them every Thursday. Please email Lisa O'Donnell at lodonnell@lmic.org if you would like to be added to the mailing list.

Thursday Evening Book of Faith

We are very fortunate that our own Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has been producing some of the finest Studies written for study groups. It is called The Book of Faith. A couple of years ago Sandi Pontious lead a group of faithful students in some of these studies. These sessions were very well received and highly praised.

Join in the conversation and explore “The Greatest Story,” our next chapter in the Book of Faith.  This 16-session study (held Thursdays from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the church office conference room) is an introduction to the Bible, designed for anyone who wants to get a big-picture overview of the Bible, its story, and how that story connects with our personal stories. It has been developed especially for adults and young adults, particularly those who are new to Bible study.

Through this study you will embark on a journey that starts at the very beginning of God’s good creation. The stories of the Bible are very human stories. We see the most heroic and important ancestors in the faith struggle with sin and evil. We also see God’s persistent efforts to be reconciled with his broken people. These efforts explode into God’s greatest venture of all—the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His only Son. Still, God is not done. We are part of the story too!

For further details or to register to be part of the Book of Faith Studies, please contact Pastor Robb.

About the Book of Faith Initiative

For many of us, the encounter with Scripture is limited to the excerpts that are read on Sunday morning. Many of us—and many of our neighbors—are biblically illiterate, unsure of how to engage Scripture. Many of us are unaware of the rich Lutheran insights that have been helpful in understanding the many ways that God engages us through the Bible. The challenge of Book of Faith is to address these realities directly and to experience more fully the power of the Word.

The Book of Faith Initiative encourages and enables deeper and broader conversation about Scripture at the grassroots level. The Book of Faith Initiative is an invitation to do what we have always claimed we do: read, study, reflect, and meditate upon the Bible together. Book of Faith is designed to initiate a conversation in your setting about how to get people to do what the tag line says: Open Scripture and Join the Conversation.

Additional Opportunities

Throughout the year, a variety of educational opportunities are provided. Please check for upcoming events.
